The Model 408 Type A Durometer is designed to measure ASTM D2240 Type A hardness. This includes materials such as RUBBER, ELASTOMERS, AND OTHER RUBBER-LIKE MATERIALS INCLUDING NEOPRENE, SILICONE, VINYL, AND BUTYL.
